The Link-11- The One Where They Crack It

images“What are you thinking about?” Nidhin aked Kriti, as she was not looking interested in getting her password…

“Abhigyan…” She said, without realising as to with whom she was talking…

“Abhigyan?? Who is that?” He asked. He had heard this name for the first time.

Kirti gave him an absurd look. “Do you remember that I don’t remember anything but that image.”

“Oh… ya… that image… Okay now I remember… your mom was asking Shruti about some guy…”
“Who is Shruti?”

“A friend of yours…”

“If she is such a dear and close friend… why have not I met her till now?”

“First of all, you don’t have any dear or best friends and second… you are friends with everybody…”

“…Implying nobody’s good friend?”

“Right…”

“And why is that so…” She asked.
“Because your dad is a big man, and most of the people here just try to be friends with you so that they can reach your father and get some benefit…”

“What kind of benefit you want?” Kriti asked straight.

“Well… the kind of benefit I want, is not gonna come from your father…”

“Then?”

He turned his face towards the laptop and tried to concentrate on the hint given.

“Why don’t we talk about more important things? Like this password?” He said while trying to avoid eye contact with Kriti.

“Ohkay… never mind…” she didn’t wanted to get into another mystery at this time… She had a bag full of them already.

“Hmmm… so…. no one can steal… no one can copy… what is that in the world that no one can steal?”

“Identity?” Kriti suggested.

“…no… there are crimes of identity theft, yes… oh… it can’t be life… someone can take away your life….”

“How can someone steal my life?”

“Depends on what life means to you… for some it’s family… someone can kidnap them, for some it’s money, that can be stolen, as you said identity…. there are identity thefts, where they steal your passwords or pin nos. to accounts and live your life…. in your name they shop… so basically they have copied it… good…. so now we know that it’s not life….

“I think we have to crack what it is…”

“Let’s move on to the other part…. determines your writing…”

“Okay… what do I write about?”

“Almost everything…”

“Then try the word everything…. and yes no one can steal or copy everything… right?”

“Ya… that makes sense…”
He typed the word in the prescribed box…. but to vain. It was the wrong password.

“So… we failed again…” Said Kriti with despair.

“Hmm… ” Nidhin just mumbled.

“I don’t think it’s possible… i mean there are infinite number of words and any word out of it can be the password or maybe not… it may not even be a word… it may be a numerical…. Leave it…”
“I don’t know… but… if you don’t want to do it… it’s okay…’

He switched off the laptop.

Just then a group of their classmates entered the class. They all were taken aback for a moment to find Kriti in the class.

One of them asked,” How is your leg now?”

“It’s still plastered as far as i can tell… so it’s hurting… as far as i can i feel…” She answered.
“hahaha… i was just…. well… I am Nishant…”

“Hi… Please don’t expect me to remember all the names in one time… I may ask your names again…

Everybody gave their intro to Kriti… but none of them said that “we were friends” or that “see you later”. Everybody just gave a formal introduction… sounding just like people… people she wondered she knew…

After that group, many others came and by 10, almost the whole class was packed with students. It was Mr. Sinha’s class. He teaches Ehical Management.

The moment he entered into the class, everybody stood up and greeted him.

After they settled, his eyes fell on Kriti.

“Oh… Kriti… how are you?…Why have you joined the college too early?”

“Oh… Sir… I am… fine… and i just wanted to follow my routine.”

“Oh… ya I heard that you don’t remember anything… without knowing anything… what would you do in the class?”

“Sir… if i would have known the subject… why would I be in the class?”

Nidhin resisted his laughter at this answer.

“Well… I meant that you must have forgotten…. what I have already taught… so how would you understand the next chapter?”

“Sir… I am going to trace my whole life that way…. ”

“Hmmm…. i appreciate your courage… how is your father? I heard he was also severely injured?”

“Yup.. he is doing good…”

He asked her to sit down and opened one of his books. He asked the students to note down a few points in their notebooks.

While everybody, including Kriti was writing what the professor was dictating… Nidhin’s pen stopped for a moment and Nidhin started gazing at Kriti’s notebook.

“What are you looking at??” she whispered.

He didn’t said anything, but smiled.

Kriti couldn’t understand, she kept on writing. After, the professor was done dictating, he started with the lecture, that lasted for half an hour.As soon as the professor left the room, Nidhin asked Kriti to take her bag and come with him.

They went to a secluded place in the college campus and sat there.

“Why have we come here? Don’t we have the next class?”

“Well.. we are going to bunk that class… because you are going to give me a treat… and about the next class… you have attended one class very religiously… so attending the next class would be so “NOT KRITI…”

“Ummm… ohkay… but… why am I gonna give you a treat?”

“First, give me your laptop… and then you will know….”

“Hmmm….” she said.

He opened the laptop and turned to Kriti, “see…. no one can steal and no one can copy… plus this is what determines your writing… so… it’s your finger print…

“How??”

“See… no one can steal or copy your finger print…. even if someone cuts it off, it will be of no use ,and for the second part, determines your writing…. it’s not the writing in the sense that what you write.. it’s how you write… you write with your hands and writing is not writing…. it’s hand writing…. which is determined by your fingers…”

“Try it…”

“He typed ‘fingerprint’ on the password box and the laptop showed the Welcome page.

“Lo… we did it….”

Kriti was surprised to see that the laptop has finally opened after so much efforts. “Wow… you finally did it…” She congratulated Nidhin.

“Ya… now… you know the password… cool… ” he smiled.

“Waise … did you noticed one thing?” Nidhin said.

“What??” She counter questioned.

“That it was simple… in the end… it was really very simple…”

“Ya…”

“So… i think the whole which is happening with you is just like this password…. hard only till you don’t know it… so is your life Kriti… it’s simple… and it’s common… you don’t have to be worried or scared about it…. about the past or the future… it would be as simple as this…”

“Hmmm… I think you are right… after all it’s my life… I am gonna explore myself…. and it would be fun…”

“As far as i know… it would be a treat for you to know you…”

“Oh… treat… you wanted a treat…?”

“Well… it’s our custom that whenever we give treat to each other… it’s a cup of coffee with samosa…”

“Ohkay… and where do we find it??”

“In the canteen…”

“And where is that?”

“Straight and then left…”

“Let’s go then…”
