The Link-4- The One With The Loss

4 Dec

Within a second, less than the time taken to blink the eye, two cars were lying in opposite directions. The one with which Kriti’s car had collided was being driven in the wrong side, and Roy’s car was also speeding. So, it was a mistake of both, which had now turned into a blunder.

Mrs. Roy who was sitting on the back seat gained consciousness after a few minutes or so, of the incident. She came out of the car and screamed for help. She saw her husband and girl completely coated with blood. She screamed and tried to stop some vehicles in the middle of the road, but to vain. No one was ready to spare  their time to save a life… after all in this world, the cheapest things of all is human life.

After 15 minutes or so, Police arrived there with the ambulance which took the causalities to the hospital. Mrs. Roy, in the meantime called some of her relatives and friends and mentioned the incident.

Within an hour, the B- wing, second floor of the hospital was filled with people.

The hospital staff was now getting to know the gravity of the accident, Mr. Vikram Roy, the CEO of a big company who could take away any deal, any tender with mildest effort out of his competitor’s hand  was now fighting tooth and nail with death to spare life for him.

Not, very far and not very differently, Kriti was being treated by the best surgeon of the hospital. A big sharp piece of glass had entered into her head and her leg was severely damaged.

Outside these two operation theaters, about 50 people had gathered to know what is happening and what will happen. Among them was Mrs. Roy, asking for  help from every god she knew under Hindu Mythology to save her family.

Doctors came out of the room of Mr. Roy after an hour or so and declared that he was out of danger. His situation is still critical but, there is nothing to worry much about it now.

After hearing this, Mrs. Roy started thanking the gods and also at the same time, increased her prayers for Kriti.

It was about at 4 a.m., almost 7 hours after the incident that doctors came out of Kriti’s room and asked Mrs. Roy to come with him in the room.

Outside the room-

Doctor: “She is totally out of danger now. Mrs. Roy, this is all because of your prayers, otherwise such a fatal blow on the head, I,  as a doctor was frightened for once, her left leg has suffered critical injury because of which it has been plastered and will require special care… but…”

Mrs. Roy: “Oh my God… I was just praying that your sentence would finish without having any but in it… but… so what’s the problem”

doctor: “I think she would be better able to tell you…”

They entered into the room of Kriti. She was resting on the bed. She saw her mother with a little confusion.

Mrs Roy: “Kriti.. hey how are you now…” She said as she tried to hug her, but Kriti pushed her aside as if she didn’t wanted Mrs. Roy to touch her.

Krit: “Excuse me…. who are you??”

Mrs. Roy turned to the doctor.

Doctor: “Yes.. this is what I was talking about… she has lost her memory…”

Mrs. Roy: “So, she doesn’t remember anything?? I mean not even herself??”

Doctor: “I guess no… because the first thing she asked me was if I could tell her name to her, as she doesn’t remember it herself.”

Mrs. Roy: “What .. should I do?”

Doctor: “The gravity of her illness is yet to be determined.”

Mrs. Roy went out of the room and burst out in tears. Doctor came out immediately and consoled the lady.

Doctor: ” Mam.. don’t worry… as I said… at this moment we don’t know the gravity of her situation. It would be more clear after she visits a psychologist. Maybe she would regain her memory after sometime… You don’t have to be hopeless. Untilmot a psychologist examines and gives his report, it would be bad to jump to any negative conclusion.”

Mrs. Roy: “But what if she actually doesn’t remember anything…”

Doctor: “I would like to keep mum, before the psychologist tells the actual condition of her mind…”

It’s a website wherein people write stories and publish their work periodically. I’m not so sure about the copyright aspect of it,but I am aware that readers may comment and like as per their wish. Your book also has chances of being in the top list of books being written in its respective genre. I would say it’s a great way of getting recognized and you have the advantage of getting a much larger and diverse audience. Hope I helped! 🙂

Glad I could help… and no, I don’t think that would matter. The two websites aren’t linked with each other, if that’s what you’re trying to say. 🙂 You can post the chapters at any pace you prefer.
