The Link-3- The One With The Incident

30 Nov

Kriti was astonished at such a comment from a co- blogger. Most of the times, she had had comments like “Nice try” or “Good Attempt”, but such motivating comments were a rarity on her blog.

She couldn’t make out as to what to reply on such a comment. It was seeming to be the best comment on any of her posts and she didn’t wanted to treat it just like any other comment by saying, “Thank You”… she wanted to make her reply as impressive as the comment from Abhigyan.

So, for the first time in her blogging history, she spared a comment to be replied at that very moment and kept it to be replied on later.

That evening-

Mr. Roy came rushing to his home and ordered his wife and child to get ready, so that they could reach the venue of a retirement party of one of his subordinates.

Kriti: “Dad, why do I have to attend your official parties??”

Mr. Roy: “It’s in Noida, which is a two hour drive from our home.. so I thought that there would be chance of the three of us going on a sort of long drive and getting some time to be in one another’ company… and besides that… you can drive today if you want…

Kriti: “I am getting ready in two minutes…”

Mr. Roy: “Take five, but get ready like a girl…”

Kriti laughed at this. Her parents had always treated her like a boy, always taught her to be bold and brave in front of the world. But now as she is growing, they want her to be gentle, sober and graceful.

In the Car-

Kriti: “Why didn’t I smelled it… how can I expect a good driving experience in Delhi… Dad… there is so much jam.”

Mr. Roy: What can your Dad do about it?? And, young lady, you yourself fell into my bait of letting you drive.. Now bear with it…

The traffic signal’s red light turned to green, and Roy’s i20 took a left turn.

Maybe the Gods were irritated by Kriti’s whining, that this road was very clear and there were less vehicles over there. Kriti took the forth gear and the car speeded at the rate of upto 80 km per hour.

Mrs. Roy asked Kriti to slow down, but Mr. Roy encouraged her as they were already getting late for the party. While driving, she was still thinking about that comment to which she had not yet replied. The comment of Abhigyan was roaming all around her mind.

Suddenly, a bright yellow light streaked into her eyes and she lost control over the car.

In just a few seconds two cars had crashed and what causality that moment brought with it, was yet to be determined.

Effects, and not the cause change the course of life...

When you’d told me that this novel wouldn’t be like your regular writings, I thought it would be a humourless simple day to day story. Yet I admit it is not a regular story. I have no words to express my views about this, I’ve never had. But I can say, “you are no longer a regular writer.”

I am really surprised that a person who alwats appreciated my skill to write humor, would also appreciate a totally different genre with the same excitement… Thank you πŸ™‚

And the story turns interesting… πŸ™‚ However I had expected some more light on the nature of the characters involved before the accident… Again my personal viewpoint… (And it hardly matters… I am not at all into novels πŸ™‚ )

    I hope you won’t mind…
